Okay, so I will be the first to admit, I spend far too much money on clothes. I love them. I love to buy new stuff and wear it once and discard it. I love fashion. I love customizing my own stuff. I love dressing up smart and putting on make-up and I love having favorite items that I wear until they fall apart. But, and this is huge, it was recently brought to my attention, that this immature gesture to bring back high waisted pants and shorts, is not going away.

Basically, several days ago, I realized I only had two decent pairs of pants left in my cupboard. So, off I went, with mission and purpose stamped all over my being, in search of some black, skinny jeans. You’d think it would be easy, black is a common color, and skinny jeans aren’t as taboo as they once were. I must have gone into about 8 shops, before it hit me that I was wasting my time. You see, I found black skinny’s, but when trying them on, was continuously stranded in the same unfamiliar situation. They fastened above my belly button. If you are a boy and reading this, try to fathom the uncomfortable experience it is. There is nothing normal about your pants sitting over your hips. If you are a girl and have not yet been down this road, I assure you, its rocky, bumpy and ends with a sheer unexpected cliff.

After much personal dilemma, I found myself having a mid shop snack break and pretty much talking myself into high waisters, reminding myself that its important to keep with the fashions. But is it that important. Will this be one of those fashions that grow on me? What do you think, or have you got an opinion on high waisted jeans? Should they be left in the 70’s, or make a come back? What does your guy think about them? Personally, give me low riders any day and I’m a happy camper. My vote is ‘stay in the 70’s’.
