The Quiksilver Girl - All Grown Up

For all of us that came up rocking the fun flirty fashions of Roxy, your beach inspired wardrobe has a new addition that sticks to the same roots. The new Quiksilver women’s line launched for fall 2008 and is targeted at fashion conscious young women ages 18 to 24. It is Quiksilver’s goal to get the brand in bigger surf accounts and fashion boutiques, while giving us surf girls something more to rave about.

A positive message and impact on the environment, Quik stands behind its beliefs as an eco-friendly brand offering many styles in organic cottons. Featuring not only eco friendly fashions, this line gives young women something more sophisticated and diverse as they grow out of the junior surf brands. Launching in Fall is a great way for Quik to give us all a little taste of this new, and I am sure to be widely popular, woman’s surf brand. With a wide range of styles from denim, tees, and tanks to dresses and outerwear, this line has a little bit for everyone. Simple layering pieces and clean basic silhouettes, Quik takes a modest approach for their ever evolving customer.

It is nice to see that a brand as big and core as Quik has taken this new approach and is willing to grow with their customer base rather than to offer them something so limited. I don’t think it won’t be long until the new Quik Woman’s line branches out into other avenues such as accessories and footwear, with the success of all their other brands why wouldn’t they? I have waited for a long time for a core brand to come out with a true women’s line. Personally I know it has been difficult trying to stay close to your roots and culture when the only thing that most surf brands offer, at best, is a juniors line. I am excited to see what else is to come in seasons to come from this new woman’s line, and hopefully more brands are willing to take the risk to offer young woman fashions they feel comfortable and proud to wear while supporting brands they love.
